i'm so excited to say..

this afternoon, my sister and her boyfriend john got engaged!  john snuck out of the house and left a photo for her on the door with a picture of the hammock.  that started her on a little photo scavenger hunt to some of their favorite places, including where they first met and had their first date. the trail of photos led to the top of mount bonnell, where we were all waiting and watching from the sidelines.

i am so so happy for these guys!  i adore john and i think he is the most perfect person for my sister.  

i love you, sarah! and i am so happy for you guys to start your life together.

emily & ian (part two)

i had so much fun shooting these pictures of emily and ian saturday.  although, it was hard for me to get them both to make a serious face at the same time.  i am so excited for them to get hitched next spring.  we are already getting our feet wet with some planning.  the wedding will be out at emily's parents house in menard, texas.  words cannot describe how much my brother means to me and i am so happy he found such a lovely and amazing young lady to be by his side.  

we will do another shoot soon of some more up-close pics.  but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to shoot out at my mother's house.  it's just too pretty out there.

emily & ian (part one)

sooo, many pictures.  i know.  and i have more.  

we had a little get together this afternoon with family and some friends to celebrate ian and emily getting engaged.  it was a perfect day filled with many many sandwiches (as you can tell).  i was able to shoot some engagement photos for emily and ian today and i will post those tomorrow so i don't completely overwhelm you with photos (although, i fear i already have).

today: summer breezes/front porches/flowers everywhere/sandwiches: hummus, beets, arugula, feta, sausage, caprese, avocado, tomato, broccoli sprouts, pulled pork, pimento cheese, and anything else you can think of/the old house history lesson/orange and cucumber water/buckets of pecans/found glass bottles/yard treasures/guinea fowls/inpromptu shoot with sarah and john/sweet peas/homemade cups (idea from here)/down by the water/beer beer beer/a little game of catch/olive fingers/cheers/vegetable gardens/green sherbet punch/sugar rushes/spectacular sunset
