if you're ever passing though austin, i would recommend checking out the foundation (or castle hill graffiti). i hear it's new given-name is the hope outdoor gallery project but i don't think anyone calls it that. this place is one of the coolest spots in austin. over the last couple years, every inch of this place has been turned into a forever-changing outdoor art gallery. go any week and watch it change and grow from the previous week. your favorite piece might be gone but most likely a new one will pop up that catches your eye. i don't know much about the story of this place or who owns it, but i hope it stays forever. today i met so many nice folks and one guy even offered to hold my hand while i climbed to the top (i was silly and wore super-slippery cowboy boots). one man was dangling his feet from the roof, reading a book. and another girl (pictured above) did a pretty sweet jump for me. lots of folks wandering around, taking photos and checking out the art. you get a pretty great view of the austin skyline from the top level and there's also a castle behind you. what's not to like?
maybe my need for documentation and organization drives this, but i think it would be so cool to take a photo of each of the panels each week or month and keep them archived somewhere. it seems like someone should be keeping track of all this. maybe i will volunteer?
ok, goodnight for real.
