we had lunch today at el patio for my step father, blayne's, birthday. they have this lovely painting in there and i convinced my grandmother, aka: mimi, -or charlene, to model for me in front of it since her shirt blended in perfectly. afterward i thanked her for being such a fantastic model/muse for me. she giggled and said "oh i feel just like kim kardashian!" that's going to be a moment that will be hard to forget.

this was my first time at the blanton. i had been trying to get a friend of mine to go with me for a while but it was seeming like that would never actually happen so i just went alone. sad, i know. but sometimes i really enjoy doing things like this alone. i can spend as much time as i want staring at a painting and i can leave exactly when i want to. haha. they have a lot of amazing large-scale installations that are worth a peek if you ever get a chance. (the pool of pennies with cow bones hanging above it and the staircase in the entryway are worth the trip alone)

we had some light, early-morning fog today AND i had a day off. so this little photo essay is the result of that combo. after roaming around coupland, manor, taylor, thrall and thorndale texas, i spent the second half of my afternoon at the blanton museum back in austin. so my day was full and very perfect. here are way more photos than i should be posting (i will post museum photos later..tomorrow?). as you can tell, i also love a nice gravel drive and a right-down-the-middle road shot. also barnyard animals. i love a lot of things. i love you too.
