pancake update

a little update on my pancakes they will be featuring at work:

i have been working really hard trying to get this recipe book out for work.  driving around to all of the stores, emails, emails, phone calls, texts.  it's almost finished, though.  i have until september 4th to cross my t's and dot my i's.  here are a few more i have completed and photographed:

italian cream-cakes. 

red velvet pancakes. 

salted caramel & chocolate pancakes. 

tropical pancakes. (pineapple, orange, banana with a coconut glaze)

cranberry walnut pancakes with a sweet orange glaze.

cinnamon roll pancakes.  (these are just ridiculous)

cherry, almond & oat pancakes with a sweet honey glaze. 

caramel-apple pancakes with peanuts. 

bacon & banana pancakes with a peanut butter glaze. 

these have all gone over really well at the stores where we have tested them.  our customers are getting really excited!  i am too!

i will post the final product when i am done.  i have a few more to measure out for large-batches so you should see those next week.

a wedding, a baby, a graduation & a move

 

here is a little slideshow video of sylas and his birthday.

he is so perfect.  josey, vaughan and sylas will be heading out to colorado to live on wednesday.  we had a little park celebration for all the big things happening in their lives.  josey graduated college yesterday!  that's right, she walked the stage only a few short days after delivering sylas.  i am so proud of her.  not many people would finish out school waddling around 9 months pregnant.  we also celebrated vaughan and josey getting married.  they have been married for a bit now, but we never got to have a party.

introducing: sylas forrest

my nephew has arrived!

sylas forrest blincoe, born at 3:13 on august 6th, 2012.  weighing in at 8 pounds, 12.8 ounces.  21 inches long and 100% perfect. 

eli was saying "shhh" because sylas was sleeping.  

i am so excited for my brother vaughan and josey.  sylas is SO perfect.  and josey did such an amazing job.  she is one of those real women that is so calm and collected.  i really admire that.  she is going to make such an amazing mom.   actually, they are both going to be the best parents this world has seen.  i was honored to be allowed in the room while josey was delivering.  she was induced monday around 6:00pm, her water broke at 6:00am and we all placed bets on the time of his arrival.  i guessed 3:13pm and guess what?  i was right on the money.  seeing him after he was born made me really sad that they will all be moving on to colorado springs in about a week and a half.  i am going to miss a lot of stuff with him in his first years.  but i am hoping i will be able to visit often.  it's a bit of a drive, but i plan on making as many trips as possible.  

nothing in this world compares to seeing a baby born.  it makes you stop and realize how beautiful life is and how everything is just starting for sylas.  the whole world is at the tip of his tiny fingers.  i love him so much already and i am so proud of josey and vaughan.  the three of them really are something special.  

i am heading back up to the hospital in a bit after some much needed rest.  i hear he is even cuter today but i am not sure that could be possible.  so i am sure i will have even more photos to share in the next week as i soak him up as much as possible.
