vaughan, josey & a belly

i had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with my little brother vaughan and my sister-in-law josey today.  they are expecting their first child and my second nephew in about 18 days.  these are two of the most caring, kind, big-hearted, wonderful people i know and they are going to make the absolute best parents in the world.  vaughan is in town for two weeks from his air force training school before he heads out to colorado springs.  josey will be graduating from college the same day she is due.  vaughan will return for the birth and then everyone will pack up and make the final move together.  i am already planning my road-trip to colorado!  and i got some exciting news yesterday that i will be able to be in the delivery room.  eek!

we snuck these prenancy pictures in at the last minute.  i was so nervous josey was going to go into labor before i could get some photos of that awesome belly!  we wandered around san marcos, and i spent most of the day trying to get vaughan to stop laughing and making faces.  i am so excited for all the things this year is bringing for them.  i am sad they will be a bit far away but i know we will see eachother as often as possible.  i love you guys!  so much. 

who knew these guys would be such great models?  this is only about 1/3 of the pictures that i wanted to post.  they are just so adorable.

snapshots: on a boat

my friend phil rented an awesome houseboat for his girlfriend taylor's birthday on tuesday.  it had four bedrooms, two bathrooms, two floors, a full kitchen, a slide, a rooftop jacuzzi and a captain.  there was only about 20 of us there so we all got to chillax all day long on the boat.  most everyone stayed the night but my friend shannon and i had to go back when it got dark so i could go rescue eleanor from being *gasp* left alone.  poor girl.  it was a really good time and a perfect ending to my ten-day vacation.  well, technically i go back to work tomorrow so today is my last day off.

of course, because i am a total nut, i drug all these burned tree stumps back to my house.  i thought they were so beautiful and i wanted to do something with them.  the top left one, i want to mount like antlers.  actually, they all look like animal antlers or tusks of some kind.  i started painting the bottom two small ones already today and i will decide soon if i will paint the larger ones.  (post to follow, i'm sure..unless it turns out badly).  but as i was carrying these all in my hands along with my other belongings, everyone was kinda looking at my as i was impaling random people/objects with the sharp, pointy ends.  whoopsie.  

well, back to work tomorrow.

port aransas part three

some photos from yesterday.  we went out to the pier after a long day at the beach (i have the burns to prove it).  since it has been threatening to rain the whole time (but not actually raining) it has made the weather so nice.  nothing above 90 when it would normally be blazing hot at about 109.  so we are thankful for the breeze.  

no one is too sunburned yet but we are walking out the door to head back to the beach right now and there are no clouds out.  so i'm going to do my best to cover up this hot body.
